The Filigree

The filigree in jewelry is the art based on the delicate work of stretching the silver and the gold in the thinnest threads.

A slow and refined work that combines  the design  of the lace with solidity that comes from the metal.

The threads, which have different thickness  and in some cases are interlaced, cover spaces and leave other gaps between, forming a translucent thread, which resembles the techniques of crochet.

An old technique, from the Middle East, which was developed in Spain and Portugal and finally imported to America by colonizing goldsmiths.

In our workshop we continue with this tradition by entirely handcrafting.
